Judging on PerformanceTeleInterpreters’ training program is designed from our customers’ perspective. Customers judge our language services on performance. So our training methodology is built on task performance that mirrors what an interpreter is likely to encounter during assignments.Over The Phone Interpretation TrainingAll interpreters are required to complete TeleInterpreters’ over the phone interpretation training. After completion of 40 hours of simulated interpretation scenarios using versions of real-world applications, interpreters are eligible to conduct interpreting assignments under supervision. TeleInterpreters’ Interpreter Development Division monitors interpreters in training during these assignments and assesses performance according to specific criteria.The outcome from 40 hours of monitored assignments determines whether a candidate receives TeleInterpreters’ advanced-level certification in Over The Phone Interpretation. Industry Specialist CertificationIn-language support for acute and non-acute medical issues, insurance claims, legal proceedings, and loan processing requires specialized industry training. Demonstrating the ability to accurately understand and express complex and specialized subject matter is required of our industry-specialist interpreters.To become eligible to support industry assignments in healthcare, emergency services, insurance, legal, and financial services, interpreters must successfully complete:
Continuing Education Training and Certification RenewalTeleInterpreters requires 40 hours of interpreter continuing education training per year. Continuing education, performance reviews, and annual renewal of interpreter certifications keep our interpreter resources performing at the highest level of quality.
